Safari 5 released! (sort of) UPDATED

Well it wasn't worthy for the WWDC keynote, however Apple have just released a press release announcing Safari 5.
Highlights include:

  • Safari Reader, a utility that reformats webpages by detecting articles within a page and only displaying the text.
  • 30% speed improvement over Safari 4 (and faster than Chrome)
  • Extensions!!! Hmm Safari just got interesting!!
Apples website still has Safari 4 at the moments but keep clicking refresh if your still feeling all warm and Appley after the iPhone fun earlier.

Update: And it's out, get it here

Check the videos out for yourself....must resist urge to buy all things Apple.
